Have a meet & greet, polyamory awareness event, house party, or whatever suits your community!!
Talk about the November 22nd BC Supreme court case referencing section 293 of the Criminal Code of Canada (the polygamy law).
View our presentation at http://www.slideshare.net/polychickbc/cpaa-presentation10-23-2010.
At your event, please consider “passing the hat” or encouraging some pre-holiday season giving to the CPAA.
Forward details of when and where your November events are being held to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will list them on www.polyadvocacy.ca and dearpollyamorie.blogspot.com. Polychickbc will tweet about it too.
The CPAA attended the American Poly Living 2010 conference in Seattle (organized by Loving More, the leading national polyamory organization in the US) . And not only did we attend lots of great workshops, but Zoe and I (Carole) presented a workshop on our Canadian court case! (here at http://www.slideshare.net/polychickbc/cpaa-presentation10-23-2010).
Trial begins November 22! Please fundraise or donate! Consider holding a poly community pub night or event for the CPAA. We have been operating a very tight, totally volunteer driven campaign on a very limited budget and we’re now starting to have expenses in excess of our $1,100 of seed money.
Poly Love may be Criminalized in Canada. The Canadian Polyamory Advocacy Association is asking for both funds and community support
The incredible irony is that this law, regardless of its actual interpretation in court, brands us as criminals without any evidence of any actual harm being done and in the process can actually bring harm to us and our children. Section 293 potentially victimizes a group of people in this country who do no harm, who are doing the best they can, and, by any measure, are not substantially different from anyone else in this country.
